About Us
Gravity Goldberg and
John Altieri founded Contribute Workshops after years of supporting educators and caregivers across the country and with the realization that our collective wisdom, expertise, and willingness to show up for each other is the greatest gift.
Gravity is the author of several professional books including Mindsets and Moves, Teachers’ Toolkit for Independent Reading and Teach Like Yourself. She has 20 years of teaching experience, including positions as a science teacher, reading specialist, third grade teacher, special educator, literacy coach, staff developer, assistant professor, educational consultant, and yoga teacher. Gravity holds a B.A. and M.Ed. from Boston College and a doctorate from Teachers College. As the founding director of Gravity Goldberg, LLC she leads a team that offers side-by-side coaching and workshops that focus on teachers as decision-makers and student-led instruction. After completing Seth Godin’s AltMBA program she realized the power of online learning spaces to build community and create spaces for people to contribute.
John Altieri spent years leading children and adults in nature-based and student-directed learning. He has helped teens experience the therapeutic benefits from living off the earth, led young children in Earth-based summer programs to learn how to thrive in community, and worked as a public elementary teacher and instructional coach for seventeen years. He specializes in play-based education, creating learning environments that tap students’ intrinsic motivation to learn, and creating curriculum that benefits the whole child.
