Summer Coaching Co-Op Tuesday August 5th through Thursday August 7th Location: Wyckoff Library Time: 9:30am-2:30pm EST Strong Roots, Steady Growth, Lasting Change Just like any thriving ecosystem, strong teaching blooms when it’s rooted in meaningful support, nourished by collaborative learning, and tended with care and intentionality. In this three-day co-op, we’ll explore how coaching can serve as a root system: an interconnected network that anchors teachers, draws in nutrients like new learning and reflective practice, and strengthens the entire school community. Throughout the workshop, we’ll dig into four essential elements: - Deepening content knowledge to support rigorous, equitable instruction - Developing stronger coaching practices through feedback, reflection, and skillful conversations - Collaborating and sharing in ways that build trust and collective efficacy - Working toward common goals that align individual growth with school-wide priorities We’ll also explore how to: - Use varied communication strategies with both staff and leadership to build bridges - Adapt our coaching stance to match different moments, whether collaborative or more directive - Observe and interpret classroom practice using a learning-focused lens - Leverage student work and data to ground coaching in real impact - Prioritize coaching cycles and organize time around what matters most - Reflect on our own learning as coaches, because we grow too Expect hands-on planning time, collaborative protocols, coaching simulations, practical tools, and space to pause and reflect. You’ll leave with a personalized plan and a renewed sense of how powerful it is when we grow together. Let’s tend to the roots, together.
